This coal is being imported from the U.K. this spring in strong 20 kilogram plastic bags. The coal will be coming in at least three sizes:
- Grains are 6 x 12 mm (1/4” x 1/2”) and would be used in 3 1/2” generally
- Beans are 12 x 22 mm principally for 4 3/4” but might be used in large 3 1/2”
- Small nuts are 22 x 4 mm for the bigger boilers.
There is a small difference in fuel cost between the sizes so that small nuts carry a small premium (estimated at 5%) over the estimated $45 to $50 cost per bag.
Cost estimate is “all in, taxes and duty included”. Most of the cost estimate is against recent quotations received but I have yet to confirm my estimates of items such as VAT in the UK and brokerage charges in Canada. I would put the probability of the costs being correct at 90% of being within 10% of the figure given.
Collection to be by buyer from nearest shipping point. The shipping points will likely be in Toronto, Montreal and Hamilton. Delivery date will be around the end of March or early April. We will require buyers to collect at a number of set times and in a timely manner.
Buyers must provide us with their specific requirements in terms of nut size and number of bags and prepay by February 8th, 2015.
