Basset-Lowke tenders do not survive the ravages of time very well. In order to satisfy the needs of a number of collectors including himself, Steve Moore undertook to recreate these classic tenders and produced a batch of them with a few extras. The three extra tenders (two low-sided and one high sided) are offered here for sale. They are made of metal of course and are mostly painted in velvet black with maroon sides with black borders. They have no pin lining nor do they have lettering or numbers. These are left to the new owner’s discretion to acquire and apply. The wheels, buffers and rear hook are Basset Lowke replacement parts acquired from the firm in England. The tenders are faithful replicas compared to the originals but do have more detailing to match the quality of the original Basset Lowke engines. The detailing includes a sloping coal bunker, air vents and a water shoot dome on top. Asking price for the either of the two remaining low-sided tenders is $195.00 in US funds plus shipping. Asking price for the one and only high-sided tenders is $215.00 in US funds plus shipping.
